Park Avenue holds second trimester ROAR assembly

Jared Campbell plays his music at a Park Avenue Elementary School Assembly.

Students at Park Avenue Elementary School celebrated their excellent in-school behavior throughout the second trimester of the year with a ROAR assembly featuring singer and songwriter Jared Campbell on Friday morning.

Park Avenue students learn about Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) expectations through the ROAR program. ROAR stands for Respect, Outstanding Choices, Acceptance and Responsibility.

Principal Biniaris introduced the students to Mr. Campbell at the start of the assembly.

"Jared Campbell is a singer songwriter who writes his own music to teach students, just like you, about all the important things we discuss every day and everything you do in class with your teachers," Mr. Biniaris said. "He sings about respect, responsibility, and treating others with kindness. He's here to share his songs with us today."

Mr. Campbell also performed at a Park Avenue assembly last year. He said he feels like part of the Park Avenue family, and said the students could call him Uncle Jared.

Mr. Campbell sang songs that talked about the importance of friends and the power of kindness. He urged the students to do the right thing.
