Darth Vader and friends visit Park Avenue

The Force was strong with Park Avenue Elementary School kindergarten classes last week when Darth Vader and other Star Wars characters stopped by to read them a story. The Sith Lord read "Goodnight Darth Vader" in his very deep voice.

"By bringing stores to life through interactive storytelling and character engagement, students were encouraged to see reading as enjoyable and meaningful," kindergarten teacher Mrs. Cordisco said.

The experience supported the development of lifelong learners by fostering curiosity, creativity and a genuine excitement for reading.

After hearing the story, children were able to ask questions and interact with the presenters. The Jawa character with the glowing yellow eyes was a favorite, showing the kindergartners dance moves and receiving many hugs.

The event promoted confidence and active participation, key habits that support continued learning beyond the classroom. Experiences like this set the foundation for a lifelong love of exploration and discovery.
